The Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery against Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) :
Ø ReCAAP is the first regional government-to-government agreement to promote and enhance cooperation against piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia.
Ø The ReCAAP Agreement was launched in 2006. The ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ReCAAP ISC) was established in Singapore in 2006.
Ø Members: It has 20 Contracting Parties today, including Europe (Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom), Australia, and the United States.

World Refugee Day :
Ø The day is observed on the 20th of June every year.
Ø Objective of the day: To celebrate the stories and contributions of refugees.
Ø Theme this year: Step with Refugees - Take a Step on World Refugee Day.


Hydrotherapy Clinic for Elephants :
Ø India has opened its first specialised hydrotherapy treatment for elephants suffering from arthritis, joint pain and foot ailments.
Ø It is situated on the banks of the Yamuna in Mathura near the Wildlife SOS’ Elephant Conservation and Care Centre (ECCC).
Ø Hospital started in 2018 already offers state-of-the-art modern facilities including wireless digital X-ray, laser treatment, dental X-ray, thermal imaging and ultrasonography to treat injured, sick and geriatric elephants.


QS WORLD UNIVERSITY RANKING :
Ø Published annually by global higher education consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds, the QS list ranks the world’s top 1,000 universities.
Ø Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was placed on top of the global list for the eighth consecutive year.
Ø  IIT Bombay at number one in the list of Indian universities.
Ø IISC has world’s second best score on research.

4th July- Current Affairs MSP of Kharif Crops : Ø The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all kharif crops for 2019-20 Season. Ø The MSP of paddy has been increased by 65 rupees per quintal, Jowar by 120 rupees, Ragi by 253 rupees, Tur by 125 rupees, Moong by 75 rupees, Urad pulses by 100 rupees, Soyabean by 311 rupees, sunflower by 262 rupees and sesamum by 236 rupees.
