Operation Bandar :
Ø The air strike by the Indian Air Force (IAF) on a terrorist training camp in Balakot, Pakistan, was code-named ‘Operation Bandar (monkey)’.
Ø Operation Bandar (monkey) was the code-name given by IAF to the air strikes conducted by its Mirage-2000 fighters against the major Jaish-e-Mohammed training facility.
Ø The idea behind the name 'Operation Bandar’ was to give a nondescript, mundane tag to the air strikes to maintain operational secrecy.
Ø Pakistan retaliation to the air strikes as “Operation Zafran" (saffron flowers used in cooking). 

Kandi Road :
Ø The Supreme Court has ordered that further construction of the Kandi road inside Uttarakhand’s Rajaji tiger reserve be stopped forthwith and issued notice to the state government.
Ø An unpaved stretch of the old Kandi road that once connected Haridwar and Ramnagar runs through Rajaji tiger reserve. 
Ø According to National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) the Kandi road was within the tiger reserve and cut through a wildlife corridor between Rajaji and Corbett, and that “due process as per law. has been overlooked by the state concerned”.

35th GST council :

Ø  The 35th GST Council Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Union                       Finance & Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.
Ø The Council took a decision regarding location of the State and the Area Benches for the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) for various States and Union Territories with legislature.
Ø It has been decided to have a common State Bench for the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
Ø Electronic invoicing system to be introduced in a phase-wise manner for B2B transactions.
Ø Aadhaar will now be used by businesses for registration under GST.

India's First Solar Power Cruise Boat :
Ø India’s first solar-powered cruise boat will be rolled out in December 2019 in Alappuzha, Kerala.
Ø The initiative comes from the Kerala State Water Transport Department (SWTD). 
The vessel will have an air-conditioned lower deck and pushback seats. The upper deck, which is non-air conditioned, can be used for dining and to get a better view of the backwaters

Only those who can deliver should rule “ The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” In a political system when we say “Only those who can deliver should rule ​”, there are some questions that comes to our mind that are:  1.
