Is UPSC not for average people?

There is a myth among many aspirants that they are not from reputed college so they cannot clear UPSC CSE which is a very wrong idea or I would rather say mental block which needs to be removed . I, in my teaching career of 6 and half years have seen that, many students from rural or backward places have cleared UPSC. One of my ex student hailed from a very remote village of Mandya dist. of Karnataka who was also from a very humble background. I happened to visit his college on a conference in “Strategies to clear UPSC CSE”. After the conference he came upto me and said that he is very motivated by my lecture and wants to prepare for civil services but he does not have enough money to go to Bangalore and join any coaching. I told him not to worry as I will mentor him for free. That guy is now DSP, 2016 Batch posted in Bellary dist of Karnataka . Apart from this I can give numerous examples of successful aspirants. UPSC is not for students only from IITs, IIMs, or any r...

POLITY REVISION FOR PRELIMS

POLITY is the lengthiest static subject after geography. To revise Polity by Mr. Lakshmikant one needs atleast 16 hrs  approximately. One needs to study the book in a phased manner. You have to revise one phase in a single sitting. If you break the flow of study during any phase then you won't be able to revise quickly and retention will also be less. Indian Polity is divided in 4 Phases; ___________________________ 1st Phase:  1. Read chapters on President+Vice-President+ Governor one after the other; 2. Read Chapters on Prime Minister+Council of Ministers+CM+State Councils of ministers+Cabinet Committees one after other; 3. Then Emergency Provision; 4. Move to Parliamentary Systems+Parliament+Parliamentary Comm.+Parliamentary forums. 5. Complete CAG. ___________________________ 2nd Phase: 1. Complete State Legislative Assembly 2. Move on to Supreme Court +High Court+ Tribunals+Attorney Generals+Advocate Generals+UPSC+State PSC+Subordinate Courts 3. Fi...

As UPSC CSE Prelims is just a month away, students are facing tremendous pressure.Too many things to do and too little time left.Aspirants those who have already completed revision many times are also continuously anxious whether their preparation is upto the mark or not. What are their chances of clearing?  Another category of aspirants who are appearing for second or third time are confident about clearing both  prelims and mains abut are not sure about rank. My suggestion to all the serious aspirants who are studying day and night  is that please stop being anxious. You might be in a turbulent state of mind now,but you need to calm down.Last minute study/revision is of utmost importance for prelims.Believe in yourself, you have worked hard all the year long, sacrified big and small hang -outs,fav movies, your best friend's wedding,an exotic family trip ,birthday of  the special one and what not. This is the time to reconcile,to gather every bit of strength toge...
