Is UPSC not for average people?

There is a myth among many aspirants that they are not from reputed college so they cannot clear UPSC CSE which is a very wrong idea or I would rather say mental block which needs to be removed .

I, in my teaching career of 6 and half years have seen that, many students from rural or backward places have cleared UPSC. One of my ex student hailed from a very remote village of Mandya dist. of Karnataka who was also from a very humble background. I happened to visit his college on a conference in “Strategies to clear UPSC CSE”. After the conference he came upto me and said that he is very motivated by my lecture and wants to prepare for civil services but he does not have enough money to go to Bangalore and join any coaching.

I told him not to worry as I will mentor him for free. That guy is now DSP, 2016 Batch posted in Bellary dist of Karnataka. Apart from this I can give numerous examples of successful aspirants.

UPSC is not for students only from IITs, IIMs, or any reputed colleges. It is for everyone with sheer determination, focus, hard-work and disciple. So if anyone is of this notion that because he is from an ordinary college with average academic record cannot clear, please remove it completely from the mind.

Anyone who thinks he can become a civil servant, please start preparation from today itself. Start reading basic books like NCERTS and Newspapers. It is not necessary to join any coaching but yes if you have someone to guide it will be great. If you are a student or any working professional who do not have time to attend classes in any coaching, you can opt for online classes. These days many online classes or video courses are available who gives weekly study plan, doubt -solving classes, motivates the students.

But coaching, best study material and all available resources are worthless if the aspirant/student is not dedicated. UPSC Preparation is for those who believe in their dreams, for those who refuse to give up, for those who failed but had the courage to stand up. It is a story of people who conquered fear, failures and constantly worked towards their goals. Here nothing matters except an aspirant’s individual determination to excel.

DETERMINATION,DEDICATION, DISCIPLINE,PASSION, RELENTLESS HARD WORK AND CONTINUOUSLY BELIEVING IN YOURSELF is all you need to crack this exam.

So, UPSC is for everyone who has the above qualities no matter whether he is average or brilliant.

Only those who can deliver should rule

Only those who can deliver should rule “ The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.” In a political system when we say “Only those who can deliver should rule ”, there are some questions that comes to our mind that are:  1. What is to be delivered? 2. Who can deliver? 3. Who will check the delivery? 4. Who should rule?  These questions carry different perspectives as the answers to each one of them can be different for different persons. So, without thinking of arriving at a consensus, we should examine different aspects of each of the questions separately. What is to be delivered? ● Priorities are different for different people. ➔Our society contains a vast number of people having different  interests and needs. Different people have different needs and we can't fulfill the needs of each one of them.   ➔Despite of all this, there are some common needs that the people and the soc
